Odds and Ends

Happy Monday! How is it almost the middle of July already?!?! Here is a roundup of happenings this last month.

Have you tried the S'mores Frappuccino yet? We walked over to Starbucks one day during work and I decided to try it. I was pleasantly surprised.

Jeff & I stopped by a fast food spot that just opened in Middleton called Cafe Zupas.  Looking at their website, this is their only location in Wisconsin.

We both did the 'Try 2 Combo.' Even Jeff liked it and he is pretty picky.  We will definitely go back. I would say it is most similar to Panera Bread (but fresher if that makes sense). Oh and you also get a chocolate covered strawberry with your food!

We had make your own strawberry shortcakes at work. Notice we had to get both whip cream and cool whip since there was a debate going on which is better.

I'm always on the hunt for a GREAT mascara. Here are the ones I have used recently. I just bought the Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes and honestly I'm not that impressed. For me, it looks clumpy & takes a long time to remove the mascara. I have heard good things about this one and even the Ulta employe recommeneded it, but I was really disappointed. I definitely won't purchase it again and I wish they had a trial-size or sample I could have purchased to test it out before committed to a >$20 mascara purchase.   Out of the below, IT Superhero has been my favorite.

We always make smoothies around the NBA Finals. I don't know why, but that has been our tradition the last few years. Jeff is the BEST smoothie maker and he even makes it in just the Magic Bullet.

Over the 4th of July weekend, my parents came over and we had lunch. Mom made my favorite Chinese salad.

 We bought a patio umbrella this summer. Trying to have Valley Ho vibes on our deck. 

Lately, I have been craving real Smore's. Maybe it was that Frappuccino from Starbucks?! Anyway, we don't have a fire pit and didn't want to deal with the grill, so we just made them in the oven and they actually turned out pretty well.

Odds & Ends

Heres's a little of what I've been up to from iPhone pics.  (Also for some reason I can't center my post so everything is left aligned)

Middleton just opened up a Hurts Donuts and my co-workers went and stood in the massive line and brought back some donuts. I did not think they were worth the hype at all! 

The Barre Code just opened up in downtown Madison. I went to a class after work to try it out.

 One of our vendors at work brought in a big bag of Halloween candy. It was gone in about 2 days.

While I was watching Million Dollar Listing on Bravo, I had to rewind and take a screenshot during one of their open houses. How cute is this appetizer? Little margaritas and mini tacos!!

Also l have been loving this song lately.

Little bit of This & That...

I just finished the book Most Talkative by Andy Cohen. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I tune into his late-night show religiously.  When I heard he wrote a book I added it to my Christmas List.  He's stylish and quirky and somewhat awkward in front of the camera. He owns it, and I love that about him.

I missed the Peoples Choice Awards this week but I am making sure to watch the Golden Globes. I did see some of the dresses and my favorite by far was Julianne Hough.

Oh and Jeff is now a Madison resident again.

Weekend Wrap Up

it was the weekend. and what's not nice about that?

A little reading by jeff and a lot of studying by me.

and had to stop by my new favorite store (sales rack only!) before Culvers and Walmart.

Cousins by the apartment finally re-opened so Jeff and I went there a few weeks ago. The lady that made our sandwiches saw my car and she was from WI too.
I liked what she wrote on our sandwiches..

My old roomie Emily had flight issues 2 weeks ago and ended up flying through AZ so I got have breakfast with her!!

*Next time your at Starbucks try the Apple Chai Infusion. This drink combines Chai Tea concentrate with apple juice to create a spicy sweet beverage. I never in a million years would have ordered this on my own, but I went to get coffee with Kendall the other day. I ordered my usual skinny carmel latte and she tried that. I took a sip of hers and actually liked it. I was surprised beacause a. i don't like tea and b. i hate chai. However, it tasted like apple cider. I heard the berry infusion is even better.
