FALL BOOK-IT

Hello! I am here with my scoop on books I have read over the last few months.

P.S. I Like You: I thought this was a cute YA book.  It is about a high-school girl who scribbled song lyrics on her desk and then someone writes the next verse of the lyrics on the desk the following day.  She has to figure out which classmate is her "pen pal."   4 stars

The Singles Game: This book was by the author of 'The Devils Wear Prada.' It follows an up & coming tennis star. A light & easy read.  3.5 stars

Modern LoversThis book follows a tight-knit group of friends who first met in college & now are adults themselves & have their own children. It was just meh & non-memorable.  2.5 stars

Truly Madly Guilty: I didn't see what the hype was about with this book. The whole book was about an event and what happened leading up the event & then after the event. I thought it was so slow to find out what actually happened.  3.25 stars

The Regulars: This was a weird story, but I actually enjoyed it. Three friends take a drug to change their appearance and make them look "pretty" because they think their life will be better. 3.5 stars

Be With Me: This is the second book in the series. It follows the first book's main character's best friend & sister. A little darker than the first book, but still fills the time.  3.5 stars

The Sea of TranquilityI have heard so many good things about this book, it's been on my list forever.  I really enjoyed this one - it's beautiful and sad and lovely. 4.5 stars

Holding Up the Universe: I enjoyed 'All the Bright Places' by this author, so I was hoping it would be just as good.  I thought it was a strange storyline & thought it was just okay. It wasn't nearly as strong as her first book. 3.75 stars

Nine Women, One DressThis was such a cute book!  I loved it how all the stories flowed together.  4 stars

Now that the holidays are approaching any good Christmas books recommendations??!

  1. Lots of good books here!! I just finished the Singles Game on audio and enjoyed. I just started Modern Lovers so I was sad to see you didn't really enjoy it. The Sea of Tranquility was great. I agree with you about Truly Madly Guilty. I can't wait for Holding Up the Universe. Happy reading!
